Mohawk Indian Children

Mohawk children do the same thing that all children do, play with each other, go to school, and do chores. In the past, Indian kids had more work around the house and had less time to have fun and play. However, Mohawk children did have games and toys. Mohawk girls liked playing with cornhusk dolls, and boys played a game where they tried to throw a dart through a moving hoop. Lacrosse was also a popular sport with Mohawk boys. Mohawk children also enjoyed hunting and fishing with their dads. Mohawk mothers, like many Native Americans, carried their babies in cradleboards on their backs which was a tradition many American parents have adopted.
